Can you help me with something other than a memoir?
Yes! In addition to memoirs, Write for You is happy to help tell other kinds of stories. Some of our past projects include:
Family histories: Our genealogists work to trace your ancestry back across the centuries—sometimes millennia—using historical documents including immigration data, marriage certificates, newspaper articles, military records, and ship manifests. Next, our writers help shape that data into a book, bringing to life the stories of your ancestors.
Company histories: Whether you want to write the story of your business to honor its founder, to use as a marketing tool, or as a gift to your employees, we can help you create a book that celebrates your company’s work.
Memorial books: We use interviews with friends and families, primary documents, and research to piece together the life story of a loved one who has passed on, creating a book that will honor their memory and introduce their legacy to future generations.
Oral histories: Many of us treasure scraps of writing we have from our parents and grandparents—a recipe, a holiday card, a war letter. Any piece of your story that you can put down on paper will be a gift to your descendants. If a complete book project does not fit in your schedule right now, an oral history is a quicker option: you sit for a series of interviews and receive lightly-edited transcripts.
Existing manuscripts: If you already have the beginning of your story on paper—perhaps you’ve already drafted a memoir or jotted down a few memories—we can help with editing, organizing, fact checking, filling in details, composing a connective narrative, and otherwise turning it into a book.
